When Disney bought Lucasfilm they made it clear their intention is to expand the Star Wars universe like never before. We get the first piece, Star Wars: wake, last year, but in addition, to the movie saga continues Skywalker we're getting a movie spinoff alone illuminates a corner of shadow heretofore Star Wars universe. A fierce: A Story of Star Wars, the ball rolling at the end, but we're getting movies, Han Solo. While we know that in this case, we will face a young version of the famous Space Rogue, we just know that we will see a different version of the character, his BFF, and partner in crime, Chewbacca.
Deutsche Bank says 201 6 media, Internet, and telecommunications conference that sounds like Hoot Disney CEO Bob Iger took the opportunity to dole out some Star Wars news. According to wrap He confirmed that a friend of Han Solo's that hairy, Wookie Chewbacca will, in fact, show up in 201 8 Han Solo film that stands alone Lego movie and 21 Jump Street masterminds, Phil Mr. Chris Miller was Lord and will direct. Iger has said little about a rogue: Star Wars, and continues:
We have others in the works, including a story about Han Solo and chewy. And that will come after the "Star Wars 8 201 8-year and then possibly there will be more continuity.
While this is welcome news and a show for the fans, the fact that Chewbacca will appear in the movie, Han Solo is not the most shocking tidbit we've heard previously. When we first met in the region embarrassing Cantina Mos Eisley on Tatooine in A New Hope, it's clear that they go way back. From the sound of this, we are likely to find just how far. Maybe we'll get to see how they first met, I could not help but imagine the kind of John Hughes-style kind of cute, but it's probably just me.
For his part, Chewbacca is much, much older than Han Solo. By the time New Hope to continue around Star Wars, he was 200 years old in northern already. So even when we see that a few decades younger, he would be close to chewy that we all know and love.
Lucasfilm is currently on the hunt actor plays a young Han Solo. A number of names have been mentioned as possibilities, including Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Jack Reynor, Emory Cohen, Dave France and more though no one has really been a leading candidate. Rumor has it that Han Solo rogue can show up in a well: Star Wars, although at this point, the performance will be done, or, at least, close in, to get in under the wire.
It will be the actor weird to see that Harrison Ford played Han Solo, especially now that we know the final fate of the characters.
